Dancing in Writing

Dear Empress of all writing,
Thank you for all the work you have done for us. I loved our class and the laughs we have all had. You have been a great influence in my writing. I actually want to share with you one of the times that I was laughing to myself to the point at which I could not stop. It was the first day of class and I was really nervous about writing because I have heard how hard the class really was. People told me it would consume my life and I would have no room for any other class. I thought they were just exaggerating but I was still worried for my academic life. I was early to the class so that I knew I would not be missing anything really important. When you walked through the door your smile took off the edge and I let out a sigh of relief. You were nice and bubbly so I felt a little better but was bracing for the guise to disappear and the work to start.
You started off class by telling us you were a young adult author. This got my attention because I too was struggling with the final edit on my story “Beneath Me.” Then you commenced by telling us a story. It started something like this “It was a dark and stormy night . . . actually it was day time and it was very sunny.” I almost burst out laughing but was able to restrain myself. You had unknowingly stated a direct quote from my book, WORD FOR WORD. I was flabbergasted and my mind began to whirr. I knew from that time on that I would be fine.
Thank you Joani Elliott, you have made writing fun again. :D

Boreing Podcast

Architect Daniel Libeskind

52 minutes. 100% :P
I hated this because it was such a good project that was being done. It was about the memorial for the twin towers site. The design is incredible as well as the purpose, but the interview strayed from the subject several times. It was not just Libeskind that strayed from the main topic but she did as well. They were both looking for opportunities to share their own beliefs as opposed to the actual information of the site. Libeskind talked about the holocaust at least 9 different times in the hour. There was no relevance and she egged him on so that they no longer were even talking about the same topic. The trade center memorial.

Favorite Movies

The hardest question I have ever been asked is what is your favorite...? I can never decide a favorite of anything. Everything has a different reason for why I like it, weather it be aesthetics, design, appeals to my emotions, or how it makes me think about something more clearly. I can't even decide a favorite color, because I love navy blue in clothing, Black as a base or negative fill, and green because of how easy it is to look at. Likewise movies are impossible to decide. Some are good for the action, plot, cinematic, ideas or statements, cartoon, grafics, or so much more that is involved with the movies. I can not decide my favorites but here are some of the movies that made my "highlight reel". ;) Empire Strikes Back, Fellowship of the Ring, Harry Potter 7 part 2, Inception, Incredibles, Avatar, Singing in the Rain, The Music Man, Cleopatra, Oklahoma, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Lady Hawk, Willow, Enchanted, and so much more. Like I said before each for different reasons. Thanks for reading. :D

My Research Paper

I think that my paper is going to be really easy to write. I know a lot about the topic I am writing on already, and my father does it for a living. I have all my sources already, so all I need to do is sit down for a couple hours and bust out the paper. Actually it may take me days to write it but that is because I like to do editing and rewriting. Ten pages is a lot of rewriting. :D

Why Write response

This reading was somewhat of an overview of what I learned in ninth grade. There were however some sections that expounded on what I did learn or reminded me of what I had forgotten. One part was about research papers needing an emotional appeal but that these emotions have to be backed up with facts and logic. If your paper, or topic cannot supply any  logic then you are no longer writing a research or persuasive paper. You are now writing a feel good story. Picking your topic has to be the most important part of the paper. Not only does it have to mean something to you, but you also have to pick a topic where you can back up your claims. :)

Environmental resources

This topic has been argued for years about how effective renewable energy is, the effects on people or the animals. Also the expense and if the technology is worth it. There is also the effects of fossil and other resource consuming energy sources and if there effects are outweighed by what they produce. There is also the health issues and the dangers of each source as well as the environment. One big controversy is that both have some ill effects on the world. Which is worse is the hardest part. I will be talking about the good effects and why we should use renewable energy in my paper.

Rhetorical Analysis

I did not enjoy writing this paper as much as I would have thought. It seemed as if I were lost in what I was writing. I knew the tools used in the speech but trying to describe how that effected the work was a little hazy. If I were to do it again I would try to find out how to be more clear with expressing how the tools were effective.
