Why Write response
This reading was somewhat of an overview of what I learned in ninth grade. There were however some sections that expounded on what I did learn or reminded me of what I had forgotten. One part was about research papers needing an emotional appeal but that these emotions have to be backed up with facts and logic. If your paper, or topic cannot supply any logic then you are no longer writing a research or persuasive paper. You are now writing a feel good story. Picking your topic has to be the most important part of the paper. Not only does it have to mean something to you, but you also have to pick a topic where you can back up your claims. :)

Environmental resources
This topic has been argued for years about how effective renewable energy is, the effects on people or the animals. Also the expense and if the technology is worth it. There is also the effects of fossil and other resource consuming energy sources and if there effects are outweighed by what they produce. There is also the health issues and the dangers of each source as well as the environment. One big controversy is that both have some ill effects on the world. Which is worse is the hardest part. I will be talking about the good effects and why we should use renewable energy in my paper.

Rhetorical Analysis
I did not enjoy writing this paper as much as I would have thought. It seemed as if I were lost in what I was writing. I knew the tools used in the speech but trying to describe how that effected the work was a little hazy. If I were to do it again I would try to find out how to be more clear with expressing how the tools were effective.

About My Book
I have spent the last 6 years writing and editing a young adult fiction novel. At first I was going to make it into a trilogy but soon found out that is would work better if it where in one book and separated into parts. It is a story of genetically modified children who escape the governments grasp on their lives. Soon a civil war breaks out among those who escaped and those still loyal to the government. The book is called. "Beneath Me" and I have just finished my final edit. I will be sending it in to a publisher soon and that process may take some time with more revises and back and for-thing with the editors and other members of the publishing company.

B Jail Assignment
I really liked how the author wrote this paper. It was well organized and helped portray the writers purpose very well. Many of the techniques the author used were appeals to the emotions. He started off however trying to set up some credibility either by saying what he does or by connecting his situations to that of which he was discussing. This was a good use of Ethos. His use of Pathos however covered most of the paper. He tried to help people understand what was morally or emotionally wrong with the situation. By relating the situation to the German occupation was an appeal to the terrible emotions that are remembered with those events. It was an overexhageration but it got his point across very well. He also used very strong and demeaning words in his writing to stir emotions about what was happening. Words like destroy, colored, or eliminate made the statements have more power. Also he used quotes and dialog which also help in the same way.

"What a Christian Believes" by C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis wrote a persuasive argument about Christianity and why that religion makes sense. He spoke of other religions and the mistakes included with there belief and directed the reader to the good that Christianity brings. He enffisized that the beliefs of the Christians were the most logical. They taught about being good and avoiding evil. He made sure to pursue the idea of good and evil and that they were two separate but real forces. He wrote with such passion that was portrayed in his writing and really inspired the reader to want to learn more!
